Somewhere over the rainbow

Ahhh, Glee! There's a little fangirl inside of me dancing the conga right now. Glee is such a great show! Literally, it's amazing. If you don't watch it, I highly recommend it.
The finale was tonight, and it was excellent. It was so emotional. Maybe I'm being a silly obsessive teenager, but I really thought it was well done. I won't post any spoilers, but it was really, really good. I can NOT wait for next season. I think one of the best parts was at the very end, when
Mr. Shue sings Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The show has always picked really good music to sing, but this was just the perfect piece for the ending; I honestly got shivers when I heard him singing it. Not only that, but also New Direction singing the Journey mash up for sectionals was wonderful as well. (I may or may not have gotten a little shivery then too).
Glee aside, I've always loved Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It's a bittersweet, almost nostalgic sort of song. It's very hopeful, but at the same time, it's like there's an edge of sadness to it. Personally, I think the song is saying, right now life isn't great, but somewhere life
is, and if I just hold on, I'll get there. I'll get to my rainbow.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
We're all going to get to our rainbows someday, I'm sure of it.
